Our vision continues to be to give EAs, PAs, VAs and support professionals the opportunity to meet, network and develop meaningful long-term professional relationships and personal friendships, and to bring the community together in a networking environment.

About the network

Since its inception, the network has grown beyond all expectations and has been a resounding success, not just in Manchester, but the success has spread across the UK, with PA networks now being established throughout the country.  The network has worked with some of Manchester’s finest venues including the Radisson Edwardian Free Trade Hall, Alberts Schloss, Hotel Football and Stock Exchange to name a few.

As part of its growth the network in 2015 launched the Manchester PA Awards, these awards were the first of their kind in Manchester and year on year attract more attendees and sponsors.  In 2019 the awards saw over 700 of Manchester’s business community come together to celebrate the incredible achievements in this industry.

The Manchester PA Network is run as a not for profit organisation and is proud to donate all monies from events, ticket sales and raffles to the Christie Charity, in 2019 the network celebrated raising over £200,000 for the charity.

New members are always welcome and we ask you to drop us an email to pa@manchesterpanetwork.com or visit our contact us page to sign up, we appreciate that attending networking events can be daunting which is why we offer a ‘buddy’ service, so if you are attending alone and would like some moral support we can pair you up with an exisiting member beforehand.

One thing we do promise at all our events is a very warm welcome.

The Christie Charity

When we founded the Manchester PA Network, we decided that rather than make money from our hard work, we wanted to give something back to such an amazing charity – The Christie.

By our members donating a small amount to attend each event, and buying a few raffle tickets along the way, since we launched, we have raised over £230,000.

Throughout the next year we will be taking on more fundraising challenges, arranging more events and by November 2024 we would love to have reached £250,000. The funds raised throughout the next year will be going towards a research programme to help young women with breast cancer.

Breast cancer has one of the highest survival rates of all cancers if it is caught early. But around 1 in 5 women diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK is under the screening age of 50. Because of this, breast cancer is the most common cause of death in women aged 30 to 50 years. These women tend to come forward with more advanced cancers because they do not have the mammograms which are there to diagnose breast cancer early.

Research at The Christie aims to change this. Donations will be used to help fund a vital new project that we hope will lead to a national breast cancer risk assessment programme. This could lead to those identified as increased risk being offered early screening and preventive therapies. This could help so many women at risk of breast cancer as we can find those at risk and do more to save them.

The Christie – Your Impact

As one of the largest hospital charities in the UK, The Christie charity supports the work of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, a specialist cancer centre in Manchester.  Money raised for the charity enables the funding of projects, equipment, services and improvements so as to give patients the very best care, treatment and support possible.

Each and every supporter of the charity helps The Christie fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that would not be possible with NHS funds alone.  This funding could be for new treatment buildings, world-leading research programmes or specialist equipment, ensuring that The Christie is at the forefront of scientific breakthroughs and developments.

How your donations are helping change lives;

Catherine Stewart, a 40 year old doctor and a patient at The Christie, has had her life significantly extended thanks to a Christie clinical trial.  She was diagnosed with a rare form of melanoma five years ago when she was 37 weeks pregnant.  Because of her pregnancy, Catherine was unable to have the immediate treatment normally recommended and, following the birth of her son, she discovered that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.

Thanks to two separate clinical trials at The Christie, Catherine has received new treatments that have rapidly shrunk her tumours and allowed her to spend precious time with her son and husband.

Without the generous donations they receive, The Christie simply would not be able to run such an extensive and world-leading programme of clinical trials so it is thanks to every one of their supporters that The Christie remains at the forefront of early phase clinical trials worldwide.
