Adam Fidler

Adam Fidler is the Principal and Founder of Adam Fidler Academy, which offers inspirational teaching and learning for PAs, EAs and business support professionals. His most popular courses ‘Get Ahead as an Executive PA’ and ‘The Strategic Executive Assistant’ run regularly in Manchester, London – and abroad.

After graduating with a degree in business studies in 1999, Adam worked as a corporate Board-level Assistant in a variety of organisations, including The Boots Company PLC, Bank of America and Salford City College. He qualified as a teacher in 2008 and has, since then, educated hundreds of Assistants all over the world.

In 2017, Adam Fidler Academy was appointed preferred training provider to the Executive & Personal Assistants Association (EPAA), the UK’s leading professional body for EAs and PAs.

Adam is also the author of the ‘EA Manifesto: What I Am’ which elevates and articulates the true role of the Executive Assistant, a definition which has gone viral on social media with some 60,000+ views on LinkedIn alone.

Amanda Hargreaves

Amanda Hargreaves has over 18 years PA and EA experience, and is one of the co-founders of the Manchester PA Network, which was set up in July 2011 as a not-for-profit organisation to give EAs and PAs the opportunity to meet, network and develop long-term professional relationships. Since its inception, Amanda has been a driving force behind the continued growth and success of the Network which now boasts over 750 members.

Amanda has worked in a variety of PA and EA roles during her 18-year career, ranging from PA to the Managing Director of a small mortgage brokerage, EA to a team of equity partners at a large national corporate restructuring practice, and is now Senior EA to the CEO, CFO and Board of Non-Executive Directors at PZ Cussons. PZ Cussons is one of the world’s leading consumer brands, selling well-known products including Sanctuary Spa, St. Tropez and Imperial Leather around the world.

Amanda’s current role is very demanding and involves travel across Europe, the Far East and Africa, travelling with the CEO, CFO and the Non-Executive Board, and is responsible for event management, and organising large or small conferences for senior PZ Cussons executives from all over the world.

Amanda is passionate about promoting and developing the important role EAs and PAs play in the business community and is dedicated to the continued growth of the Network. Alongside that, Amanda’s key passion is raising money for the Christie hospital in Manchester, and is determined that the Network will achieve its goal of raising £200,000 by 2020.

Holly Moore

Holly Moore has over 20 years’ experience in the events industry and is the Founder and Managing Director of Make Events, the go-to corporate events agency for the North’s household names, from Kellogg’s to Virgin.

Whether you want to educate an internal team, motivate a sales force or simply recognise and celebrate success, Make Events have the expertise to interpret your ideas and surpass your expectations.

Having worked in all the different disciplines of event management throughout her career, Holly is determined to make every Make Events event different.

Holly joined the Manchester PA Network board in 2014, bringing with her invaluable event management experience and enthusiasm, and is now a key member of the team.

Make Events are the Manchester PA Awards event partner and are consistently dedicated to creating an incredible experience for the cities’ PAs, EAs, VAs and support professionals.

Jade Blackburn

With over 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry Jade has gone from working in venues and hotels to national restaurant and bar groups. Working for Revolution Bars group for the past year she now heads up the Corporate Sales team looking after Revolution’s agencies and clients that book with us on a regular basis, whether it’s a one off event or a series of events across multiple cities. Jade has always been passionate about events and has had the pleasure of planning and hosting the most amazing events and celebrations for clients across the stunning 73 Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba venues in the UK.

Revolution are extremely excited to be part of the Manchester PA Awards this year as the gold sponsor, the Revolution journey started in Manchester with Revolution Oxford Road being their very first bar to open its doors in 1996. As a Manchester based company, they are proud to be involved in such a fantastic event that supports and recognises the incredible work of Manchester PAs.

In her spare time Jade loves to socialise with family and friends, go to the gym and be at home with her husband and little dog Bruno.

Kevin Sheehy

Kevin Sheehy has been headhunting since 1997.

He works with Venture Capital firms, Private Equity firms and industry leading firms.

He recruits a Chair, Non-Exec and CxO level through-out the EMEA (Europe, Middle-East & Africa) theatre.

A flavour of the firms he has worked for Creandum, POD Ventures, Marlin Private Equity, Oaktree Capital, Vodafone, Peninsula Business Services, Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems.

Kevin is married with twin boys and lives in Manchester.  He is a sports fanatic and an ardent Man Utd fan.

Kristina McGuirk

Kristina McGuirk is the Marketing Director at UKFast, overseeing all aspects of UKFast’s brand, content and creative strategy. Sitting on UKFast’s board of directors, Kristina leads the fast-growing business’ large marketing department, looking after the full spectrum of marketing activities from video production and web design, to email marketing and brand strategy. Kristina has extensive experience of operating in agencies for the three major media and marketing groups – Publicis, WPP and Dentsu Aegis, with previous experience seeing her responsible for leading marketing for clients across various sectors including retail, fashion, health and beauty.

Lily Shippen

Lily is the Founder and Managing Director of Lily Shippen, a high-end specialist secretarial recruitment firm with offices in Manchester and London. Lily started the business when she was 22 years old after working for a global recruitment firm in London for 3 years and predominantly working with global Investment Banks and Private Equity firms. Lily’s team meet all of the candidates and clients that they work with and are proud to work on behalf of exceptional support staff to fulfil their true potential

Melanie Sheehy

Melanie Sheehy is the co-founder of Manchester PA Network which was founded in 2011. She is also the EA to the CEO of a private equity backed company, Citation Ltd and is a Chapter Admin for the YPO Organisation. Melanie has over 20 years’ experience as a PA where she has worked for companies such as AstraZeneca, Co-operative Bank and LateRooms.

 Manchester PA Network is a non-for-profit organisation established to bring together like-minded PAs, EAs, Secretaries and Support professionals to create and build long-lasting business relationships and friendships whilst raising over £100k for The Christie. The Network has been an overwhelming success growing 100% year on year. This has culminated in orchestrating the inaugural Manchester PA Networks Awards in November 2015.

Melanie’s passion is to support and mentor new PAs coming into the business to help them achieve the best of their ability as well as raising the profile of PAs across the UK. Her drive and enthusiasm to create fun events at beautiful locations has been a key feature in the growth and success of the Network.

Outside of work Melanie’s ‘real’ job is mum to her 5-year-old twin boys. She lives in Hale, Cheshire with the boys, her husband and dogs, Bonnie and Clyde. Safe to say, life is busy.

Michaela Wakeman

Michaela has been a PA for over 15 years and worked in a variety of sectors over the years ranging from direct sales to football to property!

Michaela sees the PA role as being the ‘right hand woman’ to the most ambitious and demanding of Owners and CEO’s.  Understanding that their needs can change from one minute to the next and being adaptable to this is crucial to making a success of this role.

Winning the Excellence Award at the Manchester PA of the Year Awards in 2016 was an extremely proud moment for her.  Not only has winning the award enhanced her career but more importantly it has grown her confidence in her ability as a high-level PA.

Outside of her working environment Michaela enjoys spending time looking after her horse and when she’s not out riding you will probably find her sipping a glass of bubbly in one of the many Manchester bars!!

Victoria Darragh

Victoria is a multi-award winning Executive Assistant from the United Kingdom.

She is extremely passionate about the role of the Assistant and actively encourages it as a truly fantastic career choice, after experiencing an extraordinary career journey herself.

Victoria spent the first five years of her career, from the age of sixteen, working her way up the secretarial career ladder. She commenced her career as an Office Junior for a car leasing firm, before moving to a junior Personal Assistant role at her next company. She then became a Secretary, until receiving her first Executive Assistant position at the age of 21, this was for Susan Scott-Parker OBE, CEO of the Business Disability Forum.

Victoria then went onto to join one of the world’s leading specialist recruitment firms as an Executive Assistant and shortly after joining, went on to set up an award winning ‘Internal PA Network’ in November 2009.

In 2008 Victoria was a Finalist in the Hays/Times PA of the Year and in October 2011 Victoria received ‘Outstanding Contribution to the PA Profession’ at the Mayfair PA Magazine awards.  In 2017, she was awarded the accolade of Top 30 Influential Women in the City of London, by Brummell magazine.

Victoria has appeared as a judge on many prestigious awards for Assistants, most recently ‘Rising Star Awards’.

Victoria contributes to industry press on a regular basis and has appeared on the BBC Breakfast Show, BBC Radio 5 and in newspapers/magazines such as The Times, The Daily Mail, London Business Matters, People Management Magazine (CIPD), and Management Magazine to name but just a few.

In 2015 Victoria was placed into the City AM Newspapers ‘Women in the City Power List’ and was placed in the top 30. She was the first Executive Assistant to be recognised in a list such as this.

Victoria regularly presents and trains Assistants at events and conferences across the UK and in the past spoke internationally including; Belgium, Dubai, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, South Africa and the USA. Currently her focus is on UK initiatives only.
